MOHAU MODISAKENG WINS 2016 STANDARD BANK YOUNG ARTIST AWARD

Tyburn Gallery congratulates Mohau Modisakeng on winning the 2016 Standard Bank Young Artist Award for Visual Arts. Modisakeng, who predominately works across sculpture and photography, performance and video, was recognised for his dynamic and outstanding contribution to the vitality of visual arts in South Africa.

The 2016 winners were announced on Wednesday 28 October 2015. Past winners include William Kentridge, Athi-Patra Ruga, Pieter Hugo, Wim Botha among many others. Mohau Modisakeng’s work will be featured on the Main Programme of the 2016 National Arts Festival in Grahamstown, which will run from 30 June – 10 July 2016.
